DISC Personality Profiling enabled him to understand who he is
Tim had been in his role for the previous eight years, so it’s fair to say he was comfortable in it. Although he took on additional responsibilities to support his manager, he definitely was not being stretched. What Tim wanted to get out of his time on the Ignite Programme was some clarity about his future and his goals.
He identified what motivated him and where his strengths lay.
He discovered he just wanted a simple, uncomplicated life.
He is happy to come to work, do a good job and go home. He loves to travel and spend quality time with his wife.
Tim got the most benefit out of the personality profiling because he realised, ‘this is who I am, and I’m okay with that’.
He found by being in the Ignite team that he doesn’t necessarily want additional responsibility and that he enjoyed being around other experienced consultants.
Every team needs someone like Tim, someone they can rely on to do a good job. Tim realised that he had a good work/life balance, and that was his main reason for remaining in his role. This was the clarity he wanted, and he was both happy with what he discovered and comfortable articulating it.
What Tim is doing 18 months later
Tim has moved teams and is now working for Daniel.
Due to Tim and Daniel working together in Ignite, Daniel knows how to play to Tim’s strengths, so suddenly, Tim is thriving in his role. He still has his work/life balance and enjoys travelling the world with his wife
